  • Little New Steps Celebrates St. Patrick’s Day

    The students in the two, three and four year old classrooms celebrated St. Patrick’s Day by designing and creating their own shamrock hats. Some students decorated their Shamrocks hats with glitter and some with just their names on them. They wore their hats during their St. Patrick’s Day Party. They wore their hats so that the other students could look at them and see what they had done.

  • AES Celebrates with Bubbles

    Allendale Elementary celebrated student achievement on Friday, March 23rd with a Bubble Celebration at the Allendale Community Center. Students were treated to a gourmet lunch and were awarded prizes to celebrate their successes.

    Students from Allendale Elementary recently performed the play, "The Wizard of Oz". They did a spectacular job! The next play will be Hansel and Gretel and will be performed on Wednesday, May 23.

  • Allendale-Fairfax High School Army JROTC Academic Bowl Team Excels in National JROTC Academic and Leadership Competition

    The AFHS Army JROTC Academic team composed of Alexis Cohen, Kiana Williams, Breasia Mitchell, Najah Frazier, Christopher Williams, Deneshea Saxton, Keishanda Taylor, and Joselyn Martinez have competed in Level II of the JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl. Winners of this round will advance to the final Championship competition and earn an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. This event is sponsored by the U. S. Army JROTC and conducted by College Options Foundation.

  • ACS Adult Education Program Recognized

    South Carolina Department of Education, 10th Annual "Celebrating Our Success" Luncheon was held November 18, 2011 at Brookland Banquet and Conference Center in West Columba, SC. The luncheon recognized individuals and adult education programs that made significant contributions to SC Adult Education during the 2010 and 2011 school year. Allendale Adult Education was recognized for outstanding performance in Correctional Education and GED Initiative. This award was given to seven adult education programs who awarded a minimum of 30 GED credentials for a state prison and a minimum of 10 for a county jail. Allendale's Adult Education also received the Palmetto Performers award which was presented to the top 5 adult education programs with the highest number of high school credentials awarded during 2010-11, based on the census count for their county and the number of people lacking a credential.

  • LNS Teaching Using Manipulatives

    Providing students with a quality and meaningful education are important aspects in our two year old classroom at Little New Steps Child Development Center. In order for these aspects to be accomplished, we have incorporated teaching strategies and activities that enhance our student's academic growth and development. Our students are exposed to a learning environment which ensures their educational and developmental needs are met. In order to reassure our students' learning abilities are effective we provide them with one on one activities.

  • Math Bowl Challenge at AES

    Allendale Elementary recently held a Math Challenge Bowl for students in grades 2-5. Winning teams were from Mrs. Kennedy’s 2nd grade class, Mrs. Polite’s 3rd grade class, Ms. Green’s 4th grade class and Mrs. Brown’s 5th grade class. Winning classes were awarded a trophy which will remain in their classroom.

  • English as a Second Language Course

    Allendale County Adult Education program and Union United Methodist Church of Kline, SC are collaborating to offer English as a Second Language, basic literacy and Spanish classes. Classes will be held Monday and Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Union United Methodist Church located at 245 Union Circle, Kline, SC.

  • Meals for Adult Education Students

    The Allendale-Fairfax Learning Center is happy to announce that breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks will be available to all adult students attending the adult education program at the Hwy. 301 site. Applications for free and reduced lunch are available in the main office. There are no age restrictions for the free or reduced lunch program.
