Our Mission…

to provide every student with a world-class education allowing them to graduate college, career and life ready.

Superintendent’s Message
To the Stakeholders of Allendale County Schools:

Allendale County Schools is a small rural district with a big heart. The size of the community coupled with the proximity of the schools has truly created a family environment.

The district has several facilities to provide a world class education to the students it serves.

• Fairfax Elementary serves children ages 3 through grade 2

• Allendale Elementary serves grades 3-6

• Allendale-Fairfax Middle serves grades 7-8

• Allendale-Fairfax High serves grades 9-12

• Allendale-Fairfax Learning Center serves students in grades 6- 12 whose educational needs can best be served in an alternative setting.

The district also supports a program for children ages birth to three in the Little New Steps Daycare Center. We also provide services for the adult learner through the districts’ Adult Education program.
Being a rural district, we realize that resources and services must be provided to assist our students in meeting the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. Initiatives to accomplish this goal include:

• Introducing additional career clusters. Law enforcement has been added for students interested in this field.

• Introducing problem based learning. The high school has launched the New Tech Network (NTN) model with the incoming freshman class. The NTN also facilitates students acquiring the life and career characteristics – integrity, self-direction, work ethics, and interpersonal skills – that are necessary for them to be a successful graduate.

• Introducing elementary and middle school students to foreign languages through the Rosetta Stone Language Lab.

• Providing opportunities in the Arts through music, chorus, the Steel Band, drama productions, and band.

• Providing STEAM camps where students can explore science, technology, engineering, arts and math through academic enrichment.

We are very proud of the fact that every student and teacher has access to current technology. With the support of Apple Connect, all elementary students have an iPad to use daily. Elementary teachers have a MacBook Air and all classrooms are equipped with an Apple TV. Middle and high school students also have access to technology every day either using their iPads or visiting one of the Mac labs.

We may be rural but our vision and desire for our students equals that of larger, urban districts. With continued support from the Board, our families, our legislature, and the State Department of Education, Allendale County Schools can proudly say we are “Acclaiming A Culture of Success.”
