A Letter to the 2020 Graduates

Dear Graduating Class of 2020

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams and live the life you imagined.

We are honored and pleased to deliver this farewell letter. Today, this 29th day of May, is a day of joy, particularly for the graduating students and their parents. We are all here to bid farewell to our students who are leaving for college, the military, or the workforce after successful completion of their 12th grade in high school.

There is a universal truth we all have to face, whether we want to or not, everything eventually

Today, we are honored to say, we are proud of your many achievements over the years, your various accomplishments in almost all curriculum and extra-curricular activities. Your brilliant achievements in academic discourse and in sports are indeed acknowledged. Your sweet memories will forever remain in our hearts.

As you look back on your high school years, you shall take into consideration that most of the fondness incorporated with your time here is because of firsts. During your high school days, you underwent new and trying experiences. You fell in and out of love, grew to young adults, and encountered trying times. You learned that you are neither invincible nor free from suffering, and bad things do happen to good people. Your time here can all be considered a learning experience, during which you discovered the value of friendship and the importance of individualism.

You have approached a knot in the path of life, the closing of one door and the opening of another. As seniors, you are facing the conclusion of your days here at Allendale-Fairfax High School and the beginning of the rest of your lives. You may never see those who are sitting next to you today, however, you will always remember the tears you cried, the hugs you have shared and the smiles you have exchanged.

At this point, we want to implore our outgoing students to always see yourselves as good ambassadors of this school and never allow selfish interests to blemish the integrity you have nurtured years in this great school. Be kind and good to people you meet on your way up. Think big thoughts and be optimistic about whatever you are doing.

On behalf of Allendale-Fairfax High School, we bid you farewell and wish you the best of luck in your days ahead.

Thank you very much,

Allendale-Fairfax High School Faculty and Staff
