Javarius Youmans Wins Bridge Builder Award

Congratulations to 2020 Allendale-Fairfax High School graduate, Javarius Youmans for receiving the South Carolina Football Hall of Fame Bridge Builder Award. 

The recipient of this award is a high school football player that has best exemplifies the pillars of the Bridge Builder program. Every high school in South Carolina with a football program nominated at least one player for the honor. 

All the nominees were selected from 300 high schools statewide on the following criteria:

·       Football Participation = 30%

·       Academics - Minimum 3.2 GPA = 40%

·       Exemplary School, Character, Community Citizenship, and Leadership = 30%

The Bridge Builder program has been developed between the South Carolina Football Hall of Fame (SCFHOF) and the South Carolina Department of Commerce (through the Greenville Regional Workforce Advisor, Jay Blankenship) in order to educate and speak to football players (and other students) as they make a transition to their next step throughout their K-12 journey.
