The Office of Federal & Accountability Programs manages the compliance of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act including Title I, Title II, Title III, Title IV and Title V. District data and stakeholder input guide initiatives that meet specific requirements of the law as well as focus resources on district needs and goals.

Specific state supplemental program resources are managed in collaboration to maximize efforts for at-risk students, reading and literacy initiatives, enhancement activities, and professional development.

A copy of the 2023-2024 Allendale County Schools District Title I Plan is available here. Please contact Ms. Audrey Patterson in the Office of Federal and Accountability Programs to request a copy of the Title I plan or receive additional information. A member of the Office of Federal and Accountability Programs will respond in a timely manner to any questions.

District Family Engagement Policy
Each district that receives Title I funds must develop a written family engagement policy that establishes the district’s expectations for family involvement. The policy must be developed jointly with, and agreed upon with the parents of children participating in Title I programs and distributed to families of all children participating in Title I programs.
Family's Right-to-Know
At the beginning of each school year, districts must inform parents of each student attending a Title I school of their right to request information about the professional qualifications of both the teachers and the paraprofessionals who teach and work with their children in an understandable and uniform format.

Family Engagements

The Elementary and Secondary Education Act and the current version entitled Every Child Succeeds Act have continuously supported family engagement as an essential part of a successful educational experience for students. Allendale County Schools offers many ways for parents, as well as family and community members, to be involved at the school and district level.

To be involved at the school level, please contact your child’s school for more information about their unique opportunities to volunteer, support, and assist.

To be involved at the district level, please contact the Office of Federal and Accountability Programs for more information about the Parent and Community Engagement Team, Volunteer Program and other stakeholder groups. Comments and suggestions are welcomed by parents, guardians, and community members. Suggestions concerning Federal Programs may be submitted to the Director of Federal and Accountability Programs. Office of Federal Programs Planning Team

The Office of Federal and Accountability Programs invites everyone to serve on the Office of Federal Programs Planning Team. This team exists to provide parent and community stakeholder groups with information about the federal and state programs managed by the Office of Federal and Accountability Programs along with information from departments within the Allendale County Schools. The team will be provided information about district data, academic initiatives that are planned to meet student and district needs, and the Title I, Title II, Title III, and Title IV grants. The team will meet at least two times during the school year. Follow-up meetings and/or correspondence may be scheduled as needed.

Title I

The purpose of Title I is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments.

The Title I, Part A grant is comprised of two sections: individual school allocations and district level activities.

Title II

The purpose of Title II is to increase student academic achievement through strategies such as improving teacher and principal quality and increasing the number of highly qualified teachers in the classroom and highly qualified principals and assistant principals in schools.

Title III

The purpose of Title III is to help ensure that children who are limited English proficient, including immigrant children and youth, attain English proficiency, develop high levels of academic attainment in English, and meet the same challenging state academic content and student academic achievement standards as all children are expected to meet.
