The vision of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction is to assist schools with improving student outcomes in both academic and social-emotional areas. The department strives to ensure the delivery of a responsive and rigorous curriculum across all disciplines as well as develop and offer professional learning opportunities that will increase teacher efficacy and propel students toward becoming college and career ready. Using the Allendale Six instructional framework, the department of Curriculum and Instruction will guide teachers in areas that best benefit their professional growth and student learning.
The mission of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction is to promote academic achievement and increase both teacher and school leadership capacity. It is the goal of the department to encourage and support teachers and instructional leaders by providing them with innovative resources and professional learning opportunities that necessitate improved intellectual growth and student learning outcomes.
By June 2026, students in Grades K through 2 will demonstrate academic proficiency on state and district assessments by meeting or exceeding the benchmarks specified:
The percentage of Kindergarten students who score Ready will increase 5% annually on the KRA
The percentage of students in Grades K through 2 who score at or above grade level in Reading and Mathematics will increase 5% annually on i-Ready.
By June 2026, students in Grades 3 through 8 will demonstrate academic proficiency on state standardized assessments by meeting or exceeding the benchmarks specified:
The percentage of students who score Approaches, Meets, and Exceeds in Science will increase by at least 15% annually on SCPASS.
The percentage of students who score Approaches, Meets, and Exceeds in Mathematics and Reading will increase by at least 10% annually on SCREADY.
By June 2026, students in Grades 9 through 12 will demonstrate academic proficiency on state standardized assessments by meeting or exceeding the benchmarks specified:
At least 80% of students will score passing 60 or higher, an increase of at least 10% annually, on EOCEP in Algebra 1, Biology 1, English 2, and US History and the Constitution.
The percentage of students who meet Platinum, Gold, or Silver thresholds will increase annually on WIN by at least 10% for each subtest - Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information, and Locating Information.
The average score will increase by at least 5 points or more annually in Math, Reading, and Writing with highest score possible 36 on ACT.
