Fairfax, SC, OCTOBER 26, 2021- Allendale County School District awaits the arrival of Be Pro Be Proud Mobile Workshop on Monday, November 8, 2021 to Allendale-Fairfax Middle School and Tuesday, November 9, 2021 to Allendale-Fairfax High School to introduce scholars to skilled trade careers through simulators.

Students will be afforded the opportunity of getting a head start on learning the ins and outs of national skill trade jobs available such as commercial driving, welding and robotics through lectures and hand-eye coordination activities, all of which are presented at the mobile workshop.

Eighth grade scholars of Allendale-Fairfax Middle School will get an early introduction to the workforce to begin evaluating their career options far before graduation. Middle School Principal, Dr. Willie Robinson, looks forward to his upcoming freshmen gaining clarity about career options in advance.

“I am excited for the experience that awaits our 8th Grade students! My hope is that our students are inspired by the many different career options and have an experience of a lifetime with the career simulations. My goal for this workshop is that many of our 8th graders leave this experience with a clear path to a career that interests them.” he said.

Allendale-Fairfax High School Principal, Ms. Darlene Hall, has hopes that her students will begin thinking outside of their comfort zones after receiving direct exposure to professional career paths.

“We want to inspire Allendale’s youth and help lead them down a path towards prosperity by changing their mindsets and exposing them to job opportunities provided by skilled professions." she said.

Allendale County School District continues to be a community of excellence providing world-class education and 21stcentury skills and life experiences through extended learning opportunities for our scholars.  We continue to be encouraged by our “Champions in the Classroom”- teachers who tailor the learning experience each day that are based on the needs of each scholar.
