Today was an amazing day for the scholars who were inducted into the AFHS Chapter of the National Beta Club! Members of the National Beta Club are students who have earned and maintained a 3.5 GPA. Congratulations students, you are all leaders amongst your peers.
It's almost that time again! Our Monthly Community Meeting will be held on Monday, November 25th at 6 PM at Allendale-Fairfax High School in the Multipurpose Room! Senior Javarius Youmans was selected as a member of Team South Carolina for the 7th Annual GA/SC Border Bowl to be played Saturday, January 11th at 1 pm at Lucy C. Laney High School in Augusta, GA. Players were chosen from Aiken, Bamberg, Barnwell, Edgefield and McCormick Counties to represent South Carolina also..
Today, AFHS held its 1st Quarter Honors and Awards Ceremony and congratulations are in order for all amazing students who were recognized! Look out for the ACS Scholar bumperstickers! Awesome job students!
Senior Javarius Youmans was selected as the Region 5-AA Linebacker of the Year for football. Junior Kendrick Simmons was named the Region 5-AA Co-Defensive Linemen of the Year. Seniors Bryshon Johnson and Bryan Bolden were selected to represent Allendale-Fairfax HS as members of the All-Region team. Congratulations to these outstanding players for receiving these honors. #GoTigers!
Tonight AFHS held its Junior and Senior Scholarship Seminar and Parent University. Students learned about how to apply for and research scholarships. Parents in attendance were encouraged to keep students motivated throughout the application process. Special thanks to Tim Bowers and Melinda Mihlbauer of the Pace Scholarship Academy.
The rain didn’t stop the fun at the ACS Community-Wide Fall Festival! Every student collected lots of treats from community groups and organizations, played games and received BOOKS! The District’s focus on literacy was in full swing! Check out the ACS Facebook for photos!

Guess who Dr. Latoya Dixon found at Clemson University’s Homecoming festivities...Chelsea! Dr. Dixon is the Director for the Office of School Transformation for the South Carolina Department of Education. You may remember Chelsea from the heartfelt speech she delivered at the SCDE Board Meeting this past June. Chelsea is a 2019 graduate of Allendale-Fairfax High and now attends Clemson University. Enjoy Homecoming, ladies!
In lieu of our traditional ACS Monthly Community Meeting for the month of October, Allendale County Schools will host the ACS Community-Wide Fall Festival! The event will include face-painting, storytelling, trunk-or-treat, games, music, free books for students and an update from the school district! Come out and join us for a night of fun and reading!

ACS is offering Saturday School for all K-12 students who need additional support in math and reading. Dates for Saturday School are October 12th & 19th, November 2nd, 9th, 16th & 23rd December 7th, 14th and January 11th & 25th.

Today, was College Application Day in Tigertown! Students completed applications and were given key points for success during the process from college admissions counselors. The College of Charleston, Claflin University, USC Beaufort, USC Salkehatchie, Denmark Technical College and Allen University were all present to assist our scholars in preparing for their post secondary education.

Allendale County Schools held its Prayer Walk for the second year inviting local faith leaders to pray at each school campus and the District Office.
Today, Allendale-Fairfax High’s JROTC honored the fallen heroes of the United States Armed Forces during their annual 9/11 Ceremony. We will never forget their sacrifices.
