We explore different parts of the body and how they can offer clues about how we feel, whether that's calm or stressed. One of our classes at AFES enjoyed an unforgettable trip to the safari, where learning came to life! The adventure began with a wagon ride across more than 400 acres of open land, where students observed zebras, ostriches, camels, and bison roaming freely. They also explored a walk-through petting zoo featuring smaller farm animals like sheep and goats. The experience concluded with an up-close encounter at the giraffe overlook and a stroll to see the kangaroos, lemurs, and other wildlife. The students enjoyed a day of nature, discovery, and hands-on learning!

Let’s recognize our students at AFES who were named February Students of the Month for embodying our character word, compassion. This month is all about spreading love and kindness, and each of these students does just that. It is important that we show empathy and care during instruction, activities, and throughout lunch and recess. We are so proud of our students for leading with compassion and inspiring others to do the same!

Our ASPIRE Academy students and youth mentoring groups enjoyed an exciting field trip to Savannah State University! They explored the campus, got a glimpse of college life, and shared lunch at Carey Hilliard’s. Experiences like this help our students envision their futures, recognize the opportunities ahead, and stay motivated to make positive choices, earn strong grades, and work toward their goals. We appreciate Dr. Scott and Dr. Miller for planning and chaperoning the trip and giving our students this moment.
