With 16 years of coaching experience in South Carolina, including time at Hampton and Blackville High School, Coach Jones brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to our program. We are excited for him to lead with discipline, structure, and vision as he works to build a culture of pride, sportsmanship, and success. His proven ability to elevate programs makes us confident that great things are ahead for our athletics department. Our College & Career Fair was a huge success, giving students the opportunity to explore their futures beyond graduation! With over 40 colleges and career representatives our students learned about multiple pathways including enlistment, employment, entrepreneurship, and higher education. Students engaged with vendors by asking thoughtful questions at each booth for a chance to be entered into a drawing. We’re proud of our students for taking initiative and exploring the many possibilities ahead!
We also took time to recognize Autism Awareness Day and Paraprofessional Appreciation Day. Ms. Patterson expressed her heartfelt gratitude to our paraprofessionals for their unwavering support of our teachers and the care they show our students each day. Your work requires patience, compassion, and true selflessness, and it does not go unnoticed! We are so grateful for all that you do, your dedication makes a lasting impact, and you deserve to be celebrated today and every day!
Today we honored our scholars at Allendale-Fairfax Elementary School at our Third Quarter Awards Day Ceremony. We acknowledged students on earning A, A-B, and B honor roll and for their achievements in the classroom. As we approach the final stretch, we want to keep our students motivated to finish strong. Chosen from hundreds of students across the state, she is being recognized for her commitment to pursuing a future in STEM. Sponsored by Boeing, this prestigious event includes a formal luncheon and the opportunity to connect with members of the Senate and House of Representatives. We are incredibly proud of her achievements and can’t wait to see all that she accomplishes as she steps into her future in STEM!

On Tuesday, March 31st we will be prioritizing testing prep from 8:30 AM – 11:45 AM. During this event, students will receive support and guidance with FAFSA completion, college applications, resume building, and scholarship opportunities. This is a valuable opportunity for seniors to take important steps toward their future success with support from both school staff and family.
Our Steel Drum Band delivered a special performance at the meeting, debuting three new songs. Made up of talented 3rd–5th grade students, the group practices weekly under the direction of Kimberly Roberts. Their tropical-inspired music brought an uplifting energy to the room and captivated the audience. We are incredibly proud of these young scholars for their dedication and commitment to the arts.
We held a productive Board/Community Meeting on Monday evening. Superintendent Dr. Cave reviewed our mid-year data, using it to project our growth at the end of the year. Dr. Miller discussed the progress of contracts, current job openings, and wellness day results. Dr. Scott mentioned the return of our Super Tutors program and Cave Challenge, so we can prepare our students for upcoming testing. We closed the meeting by honoring parents and students at each of our schools.
