Prom is almost here! We are two weeks away from an enchanting experience for our Arabian Nights themed prom. We will begin at 7PM and it will be hosted at our high school. If you haven't already, purchase your ticket to join us for a night of memories and magic.

Donate anywhere from $1–$25 to help reach the $127 goal, and feel free to give more than once before May 8th. Today we celebrated Career Day at Allendale-Fairfax Elementary School. Our students got to explore over 20 different career paths ranging from industries like government, finance, emergency services, healthcare, and entrepreneurship! We are grateful to each one of our visitors who took the time out to speak with our students about their roles and duties. We hope that our scholars realize their potential is limitless and start thinking about their bright futures ahead!
Don't forget tomorrow we will be having an Interest Meeting for our football program next year. The meeting will be held in the AFHS Gymnasium at 6 PM and we invite both parents and students to attend. Please come out to meet Coach Jones and hear about his vision for the program. Our board meeting on Monday was extensive and insightful. We reviewed options for cost effectiveness for our 2026-2027 budget, ahead of its reading to the State Department later this week. We recognized our Staff and Students of the Month including Gauge Ayer, Ashanti Bynum, and Bridget Gillyard. We also reviewed several policies student rights, heath services and instructional staff. Yesterday, we hosted a home track meet featuring several schools competing in regional field events. Today, our team is traveling to Whale Branch for track events. Let’s wish them luck as they attempt to qualify for Lower State! Lower State competition will take place at Carvers Bay on May 9th.

Next school year is approaching fast, so be sure to register your 3k, 4k, and 5k students as soon as possible. We only accept registration packets for these grade levels, and registration is required for students currently enrolled. Be sure to bring all necessary legal, identification, and medical records. We look forward to helping you register for a successful year ahead!
Come out tonight to our April Board/Community Meeting starting at 6:00 PM in the AFHS Multipurpose Room. This evening marks a special occasion as we announce the renaming of our baseball field in Fairfax to honor Vern Taylor. We want the community to gather and celebrate him on this accomplishment as he has worked tirelessly and diligently to maintain the integrity of our field and its players. Superintendent Dr. Cave will share operational updates followed by departmental updates from Curriculum and Instruction, Human Resources, and Finance. The best part of the evening is when we get to recognize our staff and students who went above and beyond, so don't miss out! Please note that location has changed to our high school.

We are proud to celebrate our Administrative Professionals today for the incredible work they do behind the scenes. Their dedication and attention to detail help support our schools and scholars each and every day. As a token of appreciation, they received a small gift set and will be honored with a seafood dinner on Friday, courtesy of Superintendent Dr. Vallerie Cave. We hope each of you know just how valued and appreciated you are.

Thank you to everyone who attended our first Town Hall Meeting hosted by board member Farrah Maner. We engaged in a productive discussion covering mental health, athletic programs, and student achievement. Superintendent Dr. Cave shared progress data that sparked meaningful dialogue on improving test scores and supporting struggling subjects. Community members also participated in an open Q&A, offering valuable feedback and ideas that have were captured to help guide our next steps.

We are excited to announce that Allendale County Schools has been chosen as the Member of the Month by the Southern Palmetto Regional Chamber. This organization is known for promoting local businesses in Allendale and Barnwell counties since 1978. Our Superintendent Dr. Cave serves on the Board of the Directors and is proud to support our local partners. This recognition reflects our continued commitment to community collaboration and pursuit of excellence.
Our Strategic Planning Meeting was impactful and productive. We brought together community leaders, students, administrators, and teachers to tackle some of the district’s most important priorities. The diverse voices in the room sparked meaningful conversations and led to innovative, well-rounded solutions. Hearing directly from those most affected made the conversation even more compelling, and the passion in the room was undeniable. We’re incredibly grateful for the strong turnout and engagement, and we look forward to putting these ideas into action.
