Our Steel Drum Band delivered a special performance at the meeting, debuting three new songs. Made up of talented 3rd–5th grade students, the group practices weekly under the direction of Kimberly Roberts. Their tropical-inspired music brought an uplifting energy to the room and captivated the audience. We are incredibly proud of these young scholars for their dedication and commitment to the arts.

We held a productive Board/Community Meeting on Monday evening. Superintendent Dr. Cave reviewed our mid-year data, using it to project our growth at the end of the year. Dr. Miller discussed the progress of contracts, current job openings, and wellness day results. Dr. Scott mentioned the return of our Super Tutors program and Cave Challenge, so we can prepare our students for upcoming testing. We closed the meeting by honoring parents and students at each of our schools.

Our staff could elect to choose from several sessions based on their interests. We had a paint and sip session where they could express their creative side. We practiced mindful movement with a Tai Chi class offered by Mr. Li. There were relaxing services including massages, facials, and manicures. We also had a line dancing class and basketball shooting sessions.

We hosted another successful Wellness Day for our teachers and staff, giving them time to recharge ahead of testing season. Staff enjoyed complimentary acai bowls, a 360 photo booth, and a session on nutritious eating. Thank you to FullMind, Smiles for a Lifetime, and the American College of Education for joining us and making the day even more special. The giveaways and raffles added a fun, competitive element between sessions and served as a small way to give back to those who pour so much into our schools.

We had several exciting performances throughout the event that kept the crowd entertained! Ms. Meyers’ dance group brought the energy with a fun, upbeat rendition of “Candy Girl,” while our elementary and middle/high school cheerleaders wowed us with their cheer and dance routines. A special thank you to Scholastic and McDonald’s for providing costumes for Clifford and the Hamburglar. Our students loved interacting with these characters!
