The O6 Afterschool Program had a bittersweet farewell on yesterday. To celebrate the end of a successful year, they rewarded the students with pizza, certificates, and gifts! The bond the students grew with the teachers and facilitators was evident. The students even created art to show their gratitude for our family at the Original Six Foundation. We appreciate everything you do for our district and students!
Jaylen Outing also attended the annual STEM Signing Day held at USC Alumni Center in Columbia. He was selected based off his interest in STEM and his Tallo profile. He is pictured with representatives from BMW, Michelin, Nucor, and Boeing, who also attended the event. It was an inspirational experience and a great way to network with industry leaders.
Seniors Jaylen Outing and Ja'Khari Johnson, deserve a big round of applause for graduating from Denmark Technical College last Saturday, April 26, 2025. Both scholars earned a Certificate in Applied Science in General Studies. Balancing both high school and college coursework requires discipline, time management, and resilience. So their achievement is a testament to their strength, focus, and determination to secure a brighter future. We are so proud of you!
We are excited to announce that the Tiger Drum Line is coming back and better under new leadership! Tryouts will be from 3:30 PM-5:00 PM starting Tuesday, May 6th through the 8th. Students come out to see if band is a good fit for you! No prior experience is required and we welcome all rising 8th-12th graders to attend! We hope to see you there as we work on rebuilding our band, one step at a time!

This morning, Seth Laton and Juwann Barnwell joined our daily book club and chose to read Building a StoryBrand 2.0 and True Grit. The first book emphasizes that you should never assume people automatically understand how your brand can impact their lives. As an entrepreneur, it's essential to clearly define your brand’s purpose and promote it consistently.
“Hard work will never go out of style” — a quote from True Grit — resonated deeply with our student, Mr. Barnwell. Both books sparked powerful insights and meaningful discussion. We're excited to continue exploring new reads and growing our book club along the way!
We appreciate the South Carolina State Football team for stopping by to speak with our players. Coach Howard was scouting for Class of 2026 athletes. He invited our players to attend their Chennis Berry Football Prospect Camp. His visit alone gave our team the motivation to keep grinding and practicing, so that we can continue elevating our game and stay ready for opportunities like this. We’re grateful for the exposure and encouragement — it means a lot to our athletes to see that hard work truly pays off. Thank you again, Coach Howard and the SC State Football team!

This event is brought to you by the Allendale County Schools Food and Nutrition Department and The Smart Box. We are excited to give back and engage with members of our community! Our 2025-2025 Teacher of the Year, Ms. Julie Nipaz, and Superintendent Dr. Cave attended the Gala in the Garden. Ms. Nipaz was awarded by our State Superintendent, Ellen Weaver, herself. This elegant event was the perfect way to celebrate our champions in the classroom. Teachers work hard and deserve to be recognized for their dedication. Ms. Nipaz has truly earned this honor, she is skilled, cooperative, and always goes the extra mile for her students. We are so grateful to have her at Allendale County Schools.

Our board meeting last night was both insightful and informative. Dr. Cave shared important end-of-year updates as we approach testing season, along with exciting new programs coming to our district, including the Boys and Girls Club and a new E-Sports class. Our Chief Financial Officer, Mrs. Grant, provided a detailed overview of the preliminary budget and outlined potential cost-saving strategies to help sustain our district’s financial health. We appreciate everyone who attended and look forward to continued collaboration as we finish the school year strong.
Allendale County Schools and The Smart Box has paired up to do another food drive on Wednesday, April 30th from 10 AM- 12 PM at Allendale-Fairfax High School. Community support starts with us— so, we're making a difference together! Our students will be distributing the boxes to members of the community to have and enjoy. Please line up on Law Enforcement Drive no earlier than 9:30 AM. We hope to see you there so we can feed our community!

Please join us for our April Board/Community Meeting on Monday, April 28th at 6:00 PM in the AFES Gymnasium. This will be our first meeting since break and before testing starts, so there will be lots to discuss! For example, we’ll hear from the Adult Education Consortium, review the budget’s first reading, and consider approving next year’s courses. Of course, we will honor our outstanding students, parents, teachers, and staff for the month of April. We hope you will join us, we would love to have you there!
